Justin Stapley is a political theorist and constitutionalist. He began writing politically in 2016, operating several blogs over the years as well as self-hosting the Liberty Hawk project from 2018 to early 2021. In 2020, he returned to college to seek degrees in his field of interest and has been engaged in undergraduate studies at Utah Valley University since then.

As a scholar, Justin is keenly interested in expanding his knowledge in the traditions of Western liberalism and in the constitutional traditions of America and England. He is a firm believer in these traditions, including those of classical liberalism and federalism.

Justin considers himself a modern conservative, to the extent that the American conservative project is a defense of the founding vision. While his principles do not always jive with the direction of the Republican Party, Justin believes in the importance of being a voice for good within the existing political institutions and is a registered Republican.

Justin regularly submits manuscripts and queries to various publications. Thus far he has been published by the Salt Lake Tribune, the Daily Herald, and the Standard-Examiner. He also writes the Self-Evident newsletter hosted on Substack (with occasional podcast episodes).

In addition to his studies at UVU, Justin also works part-time at the Center for Constitutional Studies as a Research Assistant and is currently engaged in the Quill Project on the 1970 Illinois Constitution team.

Justin lives under the western skies of the Wasatch Range with his wife, two daughters, and newborn son.
